ABOUT US

We embrace the hospitality of Jesus that welcomes all into his presence. All are welcome here. We are being renewed by God for the sake of renewing the world with God.  God and his mission are central to who we are as a community. We journey toward that center and invite all who are willing to join us.

We celebrate the hope that God loves this world too much to let death have the final answer. In a world still suffering from brokenness we believe that God is bringing renewal to all of creation. He invites us to receive this renewal. He invites us to partner with him in bringing renewal to this world. This is who we are. This is what we do.

1
Hospitality

Welcoming the stranger with Christ's love. We practice welcoming others into our spaces but more importantly our relationships.

2
Kinship

Jesus challenges our culture’s narrowed vision of family. We celebrate that in Christ we are blessed to participate in God’s family on earth as it is in heaven.

OUR FIVE PRACTICES
3
Justice

God loves justice because God loves people. Also, when our understanding of Kinship grows to include all of God’s children, injustice ceases to be sad stories of the “other.” Injustice affects our family and so we join God in his movements of justice.

4
Nonconformity

We are invited to live our lives in such a way that they would not make sense if God does not exist. We long to become living mysteries that testify to God's eternal truth.

5
Growth

We believe that as we live into these practices we will find ourselves on the adventure of growing closer to God and closer to one another.

OUR HISTORY

In 2016 the Evangelical Covenant Church was looking to plant a church on the Monterey Peninsula. Through some dear friends, Justin and Maddie Noseworthy were contacted by the ECC to discuss the possibility of a church plant in the Monterey area. Facing a transition into a new season themselves, Justin and Maddie were praying for God to open and close doors however he saw fit. As the church plant conversation continued, those involved felt like God was moving in powerful ways to plant another church on the Monterey Peninsula. The hope was to participate in the good work that so many other churches in the area were already doing. On August 13, 2017 All Things New had its very first meeting in a home in Monterey and a new church was born. Today the All Things New family continues to walk alongside the God who is making all things new in the hope that his renewal will come to Monterey and all the whole world.

The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) is a rapidly growing multiethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God’s grace and ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through a faith with Jesus Christ, the importance of extending God’s love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity.

The Evangelical Covenant Church is:

  • Evangelical, but not exclusive

  • Biblical, but not doctrinaire

  • Traditional, but not rigid

  • Congregational, but not independent
