"Cities are...a measure of our ability to live with each other. When we examine our cities, we examine ourselves." - John Rennie Short
As followers of Christ we are always living out our faith in a specific place. It could be our neighborhood, our city, or even in a foreign land. This, of course, is simply bringing to life Jesus' promise in Acts 1:8, "you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
If following Jesus is faithfully discerning the movement of God to renew all things, we must ask the question: What does God's renewal look like in this place?
In his book Race and Place: How Urban Geography Shapes the Journey to Reconciliation, David P. Leong explores the ways in which insights into the stories (and histories) of our place can help us determine our Christ-centered mission today.
Using this book and other resources, Pastor Justin facilitates this important discussion.
