Paul Spjut

Born in Greenbush MN, and raised in a Christian family, came to personal faith in Jesus as a Jr. Higher.  Ran from God’s call to be a pastor until He made it clear that that was my path in life.

Graduate of Roseau High School, MN with a strong musical involvement in both school and church.  Jr. College at North Park College, Chicago.  BA  in Music Education from Augsburg College, MN.  Taught Vocal music in Jr/Sr High, Caledonia, MN. for three years.  MDiv from North Park Theological  Seminary, Chicago, IL.  Served as Pastor in four Evangelical Covenant Congregations, Chaplain in Covenant Village of Colorado, and as a short-term missionary in Ecuador. While retired, served as assistant pastor to seniors and interim choir director at Carmel Presbyterian Church..

Now fully retired and have volunteered at the Yellow Brick Road, a retail benefit shop (CPC) for 9 plus years.

Married to Joan Gustafson; we have 2 grown children. I enjoy walking, golf, meeting people, visiting new places, discovering God’s work and presence in our world and in other’s lives.

God’s creation speaks to me of His greatness and goodness, music stirs my soul and spirit, reading the Bible brings me understanding, insight, correction, comfort, and motivation to continue to grow spiritually.  God’s forever family both challenges and encourages me to lean into making His Kingdom come here on earth and to live as an example of God’s presence;  it also fills me with hope for the future.

The opportunity to serve as an  RGR Partner offers me greater experiences for spiritual growth and fulfilment.  I believe this experience will allow for a greater dependence upon the Holy Spirit and delight in seeing God at work in our lives and in  those to whom we are connected.

I am happy to meet as we can and are able.
