D’Anne Peterson

I am married with three children (14, 13, and 6) and one dog (15).  Prior to having children, I was an elementary school teacher.  I currently work as an instructional aide in special education, and have a passion for teaching reading. As an introvert, I appreciate moments alone to read, take a walk, or just “be.”  I was raised in a Catholic home and grew up attending church. After college, I moved to the Bay Area where I volunteered with an organization that served inner city youth. It was here that I saw God's heart for the marginalized and underrepresented in our society. While I live in a different place than I did back then, my desire for social justice and service remains the same.

I was drawn to Rooted.Growing.Resilient because I think that there is value and power in walking alongside someone as they live their life and grow into who God created them to be.  I am comfortable meeting over zoom, as well as in outdoor, socially distanced settings if local covid numbers improve.
